Student Support At Ernulf
At Ernulf Academy, each individual student matters. We have established a strong, caring and supportive framework to ensure all achieve their very best.
Form Tutors play the key role in the Student Support system. They have daily contact with the children, at registration in the morning and in the afternoon. During the course of a year they are able to get to know each member of their form as an individual – to know their needs, interests, difficulties, hopes and aspirations.
Students in Key Stage 3 (Years 7, 8 & 9) are allocated into one of three ‘schools’: Aspen, Maple and Willow. These are used largely for competition elements, and sometimes for assemblies.
Each Key Stage has a Key Stage Director, who oversees pastoral care:
- KS3 Director – Mr Richard Day (RD)
- KS4 Director – Mr Marios David (MMD)
The Key Stage Directors are supported by two Student Support Officers:
- Mrs Ann Webb supports Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9 students
- Ms Fiona Biddiscombe supports Year 10 and Year 11 students
Together the Form Tutors, Key Stage Directors and Student Support Officers, along with Senior Leadership Team members, are responsible for the welfare and progression of students. They deal with any serious disciplinary problems and follow up issues relating to absence, sickness, lateness, uniform and homework.
In addition, we have a Student Support Centre located near the canteen. This has in place all of the people and support a student might need to tackle any pastoral issues that may arise.
What happens if you have a general concern or query about your child?
In the first instance, you should direct your concern to your child's tutor. If she/he cannot answer your question they please contact a member of student support.
